Project Description

The Centennial Learning Centre (CLC) in Edmonton, Alberta, for the PCL family of companies is a tribute to past, present and future generations—and as such, is the flagship project being undertaken for their 100th anniversary in 2006!

Upon opening in November 2005, the 29,000-square-foot addition links the campus' two largest buildings on the 40-year-old PCL Business Park: the one-story Canada Head Office building and the two-story Edmonton-based industrial and commercial construction operations building.

The center's main level includes reception, offices for human resources and professional development, and a new boardroom. On the basement level, there is a state-of-the-art training room for up to 40 students, remote training rooms, meeting rooms, a large lunchroom, and a spacious Grand Hall that looks out onto a half acre of landscaped gardens.

As an example of the PCL family of companies' continuing commitment to construction excellence, this building is gold certified under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building rating system, a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high performance, sustainable buildings.
