City Centre Redevelopment

Acting as the Construction Manager and performing General Contractor duties, Oxford Developments has requested PCL-Maxam, a Joint Venture begin the first of many phases redeveloping both Edmonton and Eaton Centre into one retail center. The first phase requires the demolition of the lower, main and second level of Eaton Centre. The existing "Bay" retail tenant will relocate from Edmonton Centre into the main and second floor of Eaton Centre. The lower concourse level of both buildings will be converted into parking. Subsequent phases include the removal and reconstruction of a +15 two-level pedestrian walkway joining both buildings. New floor covering, handrails and feature drywall ceilings are planned for the main and second level, along with column and feature signage within each atrium. New lighting changes and other mall accents will be incorporated into the design as the budget allows. When completed, the new City Centre will have an exciting new look with exterior wall banners, electronic billboards, new entry facades and a climbing wall.
