Project Description
The Edmonton Airport Southeast Terminal Expansion (also known as SETE) has a building footprint of approximately 130,000 square feet and a total building area of approximately 300,000 square feet including the arrivals area, departures area and the mezzanine level. Substantial mechanical and electrical upgrades and additional equipment to the existing Edmonton Airports' Central Utilities plant were included in the SETE project. The mechanical and electrical upgrades were designed to provide sufficient capacity to service the existing ATB, SETE and the new Central Hall (Phase 3).
The execution of the project followed the planning model developed during the tender period. The alternate construction sequencing for the new roadway proposed by PCL-Maxam, a Joint Venture at the time of tender was accepted and proved to be a benefit to both the construction schedule and maintaining Edmonton Airports' operational requirements. The construction of the new departures roadway was unique in that the logistics for completing this work required that we accommodate all airport vehicular traffic including bus traffic. We managed to meet all these requirements.
