Phase IV - West Edmonton Mall - Theatre Construction and Renovation

The two major components of this project were the new Famous Players Theatres and the Phase IV mall redevelopment. The Famous Players Theatres (74,000 square feet) consists of 12 theatres and an Imax Theatre with total seating for 3,691 people. The project is unique in several aspects. It is was constructed on top of the previous Woodwards store roof; there are extremely high-end acoustical requirements; all the theatres have stadium type seating; and the Imax theatre will be in 3D Imax. There is currently only one other 3D Imax theatre in existence, in Australia.  Phase IV mall project (150,000 square feet) consists of the redevelopment of the previous Woodwards store mall walway and providing an open atrium space.
