InterVac will be one of the largest vaccine research laboratories (CL3 and AP3ag) in North America and a first of its kind for the PCL family of companies.  This biocontainment facility, in conjunction with the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization (VIDO), will provide research capability, especially large animal research space, for animal and human disease research on current and emerging infectious diseases.  The facility and its operations will work effectively with existing University of Saskatchewan research programs including VIDO, Western College of Veterinary Medicine and the College of Medicine to expand their basic research and product development capabilities in the area of high consequence pathogens.  As such, the project will augment the University's position as research leaders internationally in infectious disease and vaccine development research.
